We are proud to have co-hosted the Carbon Capture and Storage MMV Technology Showcase alongside the NSTA, the Carbon Storage Task Force and the Net Zero Technology Centre, on 29th October in Aberdeen.
This event was an exciting opportunity to dive deep into cutting-edge innovation covering multiple monitoring technologies which can be applied to carbon storage: from seismic surveys to in-well fibre and sensors, geochemical and environmental monitoring.
Carbon storage operators and technology suppliers presented their experience in developing and deploying technologies, and discussed details of their solutions at 19 suppliers’ stands set up for the day.
The event pointed to the strong progress that the industry is making in the CCS MMV field, and the advantages of using multiple technologies to achieve a more accurate, real-time and cost-efficient monitoring of CO2 injection. Combining technologies was also deemeed to accelerate their further development, testing and calibration.
The showcase brought together 70 representatives from:
• 12 carbon storage operators from the UK and international basins, who shared CCS project experience and MMV expectations
• 20 technology providers who illustrated their CO2 monitoring solutions
With extended networking and exhibitor interactions, there was plenty of time to exchange information and share lessons learned, paving the way for further collaboration. Attendees agreed that the session was very engaging, had a good balance of presentations between operators and suppliers, stimulating open and productive discussions.
