Co-chaired by the Industry (TotalEnergies) and the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA), it works together with the other North Sea Transition Task Forces to maximise technologies' benefits to the industry.

Our Mission
To drive the development and deployment of new and existing technology to enable the twin UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) goals of Maximising Economic Recovery (MER UK) and achieving a net zero basin by 2050.
Our Vision
To be the focal point for technology on the UKCS, providing strategic direction and clear demand-led priorities aligned with MER UK and net zero commitments.
Our Strategy
- Working with the industry to identify UKCS technology opportunities and challenges, and effecting plans to address them
- Providing long term strategic direction and defining technology priorities for the UKCS
- Aligning operating companies with suppliers and other delivery organisations to drive projects with strong industry sponsorship
- Championing technology deployment by sharing knowledge with support from technology leaders
- Driving awareness, engagement and action through effective communication and leadership
Technology will be essential to deliver a net zero carbon economy and secure the energy our homes and businesses need from the UKCS. The impact of this transition is far reaching across every part of society, not least in the energy sector, and particularly in the oil and gas industry. This has brought a new focus and energy to the work of the TLB and for companies operating on the UKCS.
