Nicolas joined Total in 1991 and held various positions in Drilling, Planning and Development in France, Angola and Indonesia until 2009. He was then appointed as Managing Director of Total ABK in Abu Dhabi and later Managing Director of Total E&P Cote d’Ivoire in Ivory Coast. Subsequently appointed VP Contract and Procurement for Total E&P in 2014 and then CPO for TotalEnergies in 2019. He became Managing Director of TotalEnergies E&P UK in January 2023 and is the industry Co-Chair of the Technology Leadership Board.

Clara Altobell has over twenty-five years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, starting out as a petroleum engineer, managing many different aspects of the industry in the UK and overseas. Currently an independent member, Clara was previously Vice President for ESG and Business Innovation at Serica Energy, where she helped steer the company through the energy transition. Clara holds an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College, London and is a Fellow of the Energy Institute.

Founded his first business in 1985. Now a non-executive with interests in renewable energy, telecoms, defence and marine industries. Melfort has focused on innovation and business – university engagement to develop market ready technology solutions in engineering. With a number of public and private roles he is focused on the industrial application of research and innovation. A fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and Court member of the University of Strathclyde, Melfort co-chairs the Scottish Government Energy Transition board.

Angus originally studied Engineering at the University of Aberdeen, before completing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence applied to predictive maintenance. A career of over 20 years in the oil industry focused largely around applying new technology across large capital projects and operations and maintenance. Prior to joining SSE, Angus was Head of IT Europe for TAQA. Angus joined SSE in 2020 as CIO for their Renewables, Thermal and Energy Portfolio Management businesses.

He has over 20 years of experience in the Energy & Resources sector, mainly in Oil & Gas with additional Technology, Mining and Consulting exposure. He has worked globally in a variety of roles across, technical, management and commercial disciplines, and was Australia-based from 2009-2019. Steven holds a BSc (hons) in Geology & Petroleum Geology, an MSc in Drilling and Well Engineering, and an MBA.
