Clara Altobell

Clara Altobell has over twenty-five years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, starting out as a petroleum engineer, managing many different aspects of the industry in the UK and overseas. Currently an independent member, Clara was previously Vice President for ESG and Business Innovation at Serica Energy, where she helped steer the company through the energy transition. Clara holds an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College, London and is a Fellow of the Energy Institute.

Melfort Campbell OBE FRSE

Founded his first business in 1985. Now a non-executive with interests in renewable energy, telecoms, defence and marine industries. Melfort has focused on innovation and business – university engagement to develop market ready technology solutions in engineering. With a number of public and private roles he is focused on the industrial application of research and innovation. A fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and Court member of the University of Strathclyde, Melfort co-chairs the Scottish Government Energy Transition board.

Angus Murray

SSE Renewables

Angus originally studied Engineering at the University of Aberdeen, before completing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence applied to predictive maintenance. A career of over 20 years in the oil industry focused largely around applying new technology across large capital projects and operations and maintenance. Prior to joining SSE, Angus was Head of IT Europe for TAQA. Angus joined SSE in 2020 as CIO for their Renewables, Thermal and Energy Portfolio Management businesses.

Steven Travers

Steven is the Region Director for Subsurface & Consulting at Baker Hughes, leading the Reservoir Technical Services Team. He has over 20 years of experience in the Energy & Resources sector, mainly in Oil & Gas with additional Technology, Mining and Consulting exposure. He has worked globally in a variety of roles across, technical, management and commercial disciplines, and was Australia-based from 2009-2019. Steven holds a BSc (hons) in Geology & Petroleum Geology, an MSc in Drilling and Well Engineering, and an MBA.

Rob Fox

With over 25 years in the Oil & Gas industry, Rob currently holds the position of Managing Director, Europe, for SLB. Prior to this role he was Managing Director, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Rob started his career in the field and has since held various management positions in both operations and support roles while working in multiple countries across Middle East, Asia, Africa, North America and Europe.

Steve has over 20 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industry working in a number of senior roles involving operational readiness, optimisation of performance, reliability and integrity management. Currently focused on enabling the enhancement of operations and services through the adoption of digital technology. Steve has been integral to the creation of Petrofac’s digitalisation strategy globally.

Technology Manager at the NSTA, Ernie brings over 30 years’ experience in technical and management roles in upstream oil & gas for both operators and supply chain companies in the UK and overseas. He holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Technology Management.

Clive has over 25 years industry experience across service companies and operators and is currently Senior Manager Assurance, Technology and CCUS/H2 at CNOOC UK. His responsibilities include subsurface technical governance and promotion of novel technologies. Clive is a petroleum geologist by degree and holds a PhD from the University of Leicester.

Steve Aitken

Steve is the Founder of Intelligent Plant, a UK-based software company delivering secure, real-time data analytics to industrial sectors like energy and manufacturing. A software engineer and commercial strategist, he created the Industrial App Store platform, enabling operational optimisation and emissions reduction. He mentors with MIT REAP and RGU Startup Accelerator, serves as a Royal Society Entrepreneur at the University of Aberdeen, and champions SME digital enablement. His work accelerates the North Sea’s sustainable energy transition through scalable, data-driven solutions.

Neil Allen

Neil is the Asset Integrity Manager for Worley with over 22 years in the oil and gas industry. He has worked in the UK and the Middle East Regions for various oil and gas operators and service companies on both on and offshore assets as well as subsea projects. He also is a Worley Digital Champion ensuring that digital technologies and new software are developed and utilised on various projects that Worley undertake.

Chetan Laddha

Chetan is the co-founder of Transformational Energy, a technology firm with a mission to commercialise disruptive technologies and develop capital projects in the energy transition sector. He has a diverse background spanning upstream, maritime, mining, petrochemical, and downstream sectors. Chetan has a strong track record and passion towards commercialising high impact technologies into sustainable and growth businesses. Chetan holds an MSc in Marine Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.
